Process

These are the steps you must follow in order to successfully complete your webquest assignment.

1. First, you will review your notes from the book the Hatchet by Gary Paulsen.
2. Second, individually you will work on developing a survival guide for the wilderness.
3. Third, you will be asked to visit the website: http://www.equipped.org/kidprimr.htm
4.  Fourth, the survival guide will need to include a drawing of a map of your location in the wilderness.
5. Fifth, you will also include your own calendar image for the amount of stranded days in the wilderness.
6.  Sixth, you will be asked to visit the website: http://www.survivaltopics.com/survival/how-to-build-a-fire-the-definitive-guide/
7. Seventh, you will include fire building instructions in your own words in this guide.
8.  Eighth, you will include shelter making techniques and ideas to keep warm in the wilderness.
9. Ninth, you will be asked to visit the website: http://www.wilderness-survival-skills.com/survivalfood.html
10. Tenth, you will design a recipe book of all the nutritional foods in the wilderness.
11. Eleventh, you will be asked to visit the website:  http://kidshealth.org/parent/firstaid_safe/home/firstaid_kit.html
12. Twelfth, you will describe all the necessary items needed in a first aid kit and briefly explain why.
13. Next, you will write a letter home to a loved one about your experience in the wilderness.
14. Finally, you will be safe once your survival guide is complete of all the necessary elements needed for surviving and getting rescued in the wilderness.
